Below are instructions for troubleshooting why a Pro 300 coffee boiler isn't heating. This is useful if the PID is turning on but displaying that the group temperature isn't rising and if the machine is not tripping a gfi outlet. Before doing this we recommend unplugging the machine and allowing to cool off. Tools required:
- 2.5mm allen wrench
- multimeter(optional)
First, remove the top panel from the machine - described here.
After, verify all wires are correctly connected to their settings and that the two safety switches are pushed in place.
If everything is set correctly verify the safety switches have continuity running through them with the resistance setting on a multimeter and test for resistance through the legs of the element. The elements resistance should be between .16 - .23. If there is no continuity through the element or one of the safety switches it is time to replace one of them.
